Frequently Asked Questions

Can I drop off or collect my dog out of opening times?

Suitable arrangements can be made only following discussion with staff at Country Getaway Boarding Kennels.

What if my holiday runs short or long for whatever reason?

If your holiday is shorter or longer than planned, we will do our best to help you. If your booking is shortened, you will not incur any additional charges. Provided that there is space available, then there should be no problems in extending your dog's stay with us at Country Getaway Boarding Kennels.

We do ask that you inform us of any changes as early as possible.

Will you take my bitch in season?

Yes, she will be kept well away from male boarders. Dogs at Country Getaway Boarding Kennels are given several individual walks per day.

What do you feed them?

We have numerous dog foods available at Country Getaway Boarding Kennels to suit all appetites. These include Arden Grange Adult Chicken and Rice, Burgess (Supadog) Complete Chicken/Beef, Chappie Complete, Butcher's tripe mix, Pedigree Beef in Gravy and Nature's Harvest Turkey. If your dog is on a special veterinary prescribed diet, or if you would just prefer not to change their food, you are welcome to bring your own food and we will feed that instead. A 10% discount will be applied.

Will you administer medications? And will there be an additional charge?

Yes, our Registered Veterinary Nurse, Christine, has over 25 years experiences with dogs with various medical conditions. Please ensure that you provide all medications required during your dogs stay. Administration of medication does not incur an additional fee as it is all included in the boarding fee.

Is my dog insured?

Yes, your pet is insured for kennel-related illnesses up to £2000 while boarding. We must be notified of any illness or injury within 3 days of leaving the kennels. Our insurance does not cover pre-existing illness.

What is the minimum or maximum age I can board my pet?

There is no maximum age provided your dog's vaccination status is up to date. Minimum age is 16 weeks of age

Can I visit my pet while they are boarding?

Arrangements can be made only following discussion with staff at Country Getaway Boarding Kennels. Owners should be aware that this may cause unnecessary stress for dogs during their stay. So visits should be considered in the dog's best interests.

Do the animals interact with each other?

No, dogs have their own separate kennels and are kept separate at all times. The only exception is for multiple pets from the same household that are boarding together.

Can I bring toys/treats/beds?

You are welcome to bring your dog's toys, treats, blanket or bedding.

What sort of exercise do they get?

Dogs are taken out on individual lead-walks around the fields several times daily and also have access to the enclosed grass play area where they are allowed to run free. We do our best to ensure your dog's exercise requirements are met daily.

How much contact will they get with people?

Our dedicated team at Country Getaway Boarding Kennels love to spend time with and get to know your dogs. They will get attention and affection they need throughout their stay with us.

Are the facilities heated?

Yes, all the kennels and pens are heated with underground heating.

Is someone present at all times?

Yes, our staff will be on site at all times.

What methods of payment do you accept?
